Youth Advisors

The Junction Youth Advisors (JYAs) are…

…a an awesome group of young people who get together every month to talk about the health and wellbeing issues that affect the lives of young people in the community…

…The JYAs explore how they and The Junction can work towards creating positive changes.

The JYAs volunteer and support The Junction to develop its services, whilst evolving their own own understanding of health and wellbeing issues, and promoting the work of the organisation.

EXCITING NEWS… For the second year we have been awarded an activity grant from EVOC’s EDINBURGH COMMUNITIES MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING FUND!!!

Last year this allowed young people to plan and participate in a number of fun and gently challenging activities including: Trips to the cinema and theatre, puzzling their way out of two escape rooms and physically challenging themselves at GO Ape. This year planning has already begun and we hope even more local young people will get onboard with us… Watch this space for all the opportunities as they come up.

The JYAs previous projects include creating promotional material, awareness raising campaigns, supporting staff to host launch events and exhibitions, presentations at The Scottish Parliament, outreach to other organisation and local schools. Check out one of there previous projects “The Lockdown Lowdown” a short film the JYAs made during lockdown.
