*****

Over the years we have had amazing volunteers! A diverse bunch of individuals with a common desire to positively contribute to the support & services of The Junction. We strive to ensure high quality volunteer experiences, which encourage both personal and professional development.

There are various ways people can volunteer within The Junction:

Junction Youth Advisors – for 14 – 21’s. The Junction Youth Advisors (JYA) is a group of local young people who support The Junction to provide free accessible health and wellbeing services to their peers in Leith and North East Edinburgh.

Board of Trustees – over 21’s. The Junction could not do the vital work they do without the support of the Board of Trustees who have overall responsibility for the organisation.

Trainee Counsellor Placement – we offer students working towards a professional counselling qualification to join us on placement for a year. Whilst we welcome your notification of interest at any time (we will hold your name on a waitlist), we typically hold recruitments when in need across the year. Please keep checking our Trainee Counsellor page for recruitments dates.

Specialist Volunteers – In the past we have had two qualified Reiki Practitioners volunteering their skills, and a Volunteer Yoga Tutor. Specialist Volunteers bring opportunities for young people (and staff) to explore new activities.

Fundraising Volunteers – We are always grateful for those individuals who choose to support our work by fundraising for The Junction, whether it’s through running a marathon or holding money raising events. We have been lucky to have the support of a range of Volunteer Fundraisers, like:

Kyle Morrison, students from Edinburgh CollegeThe Junctioneers and The Junction EH11’ers.
