This four week programme invited local young women to help us explore some of our Alcohol Education Resources; and to considered the merits and gaps in gender specific resources.
Together the group shared their views and insights in to how The Junctions materials might be received by young people; they also looked at areas for development and adaptation. One activity they developed with a Junction Volunteer was a re-working of the game ‘Twister’ by incorporating alcohol related questions.
Staff then took the ‘Alcohol Twister’ activity and used it at a large youth work summer event, where it was enjoyed by many young people. To thank the young women for their contributions to The Junctions Alcohol Service, the group were gifted an outing – they chose to go ten-pin bowling together with staff.
