We are always grateful for those individuals who choose to support our work, whether their role is focused on supporting young people or running a marathon to raise money for the charity.
There are various ways people can volunteer within The Junction:
Trainee Counselling Placement
An opportunity for students working towards a professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy. Trainees will work with up to four young people on a weekly basis supporting them to explore their emotions, thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential space.
Whilst we welcome notifications of interest at any time, we typically recruit at specific points of the year. Please see our Trainee Counsellor page for updates.
Trustee
We are looking for committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is an incredible opportunity to make a difference with The Junction and build your skills. In particularly we’re interested in applicants with experience in the third sector, in fundraising, and HR.
Candidates must have an understanding of the issues affecting young people, as well as the challenges of the charity/third sector landscape. The most important attributes of our trustees include a willingness to ask questions, being inclusive and collaborative, as well as have the time to commitment to the role. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
Duties/tasks for the year include:
• Attend 4 board meetings a year (quarterly)
• Attend or dial-in to 4 informal meetings with board members
• Contribute to a sub-groups that meets roughly 4 times - a team of staff and board members
• Attend a minimum of one Development Day with staff and/or trustees (usually on a Saturday)
